EDUCATION:
University of Cambridge - PGCE Science (1996) and PhD Physics (1979).
University of Rajshahi - MSc Physics (1973) and BSc Physics (1971).


PROFESSIONAL CAREER: Director General, The Islamic Academy, Cambridge
(l999-present) and Deputy Director General (1983-1999). Research Instructor,
University of Utah, USA (1981-1983). Assistant Professor of Physics,
University of Rajshahi (1978-1983).

 

 SPECIALIZATION: Education, Islamic
philosophy of science, and curriculum designing. Editor of the
Cambridge-based Muslim Education Quarterly, and author of several books and
many papers.

 

 OTHER INVOLVEMENTS: Educational consultant, presents Muslim
perspective on a wide range of contemporary issues through writings and
lectures, organizes teacher training programmes and Islamic courses for
local and international students. Also organises international seminars on
education.

 

 ASSOCIATIONS: Fellow of the Royal Society for the encouragement
of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, Fellow of Cambridge Philosophical
Society, Member of the Institute of Physics, Peace Education Standing
Commission, Religious Council of England and Wales, Cambridgeshire SACRE.
