CIS

The Center for Islamic Sciences (CIS) is interested in a creative exploration of the religious, philosophical, and ethical implications of data and theories originating in the contemporary physical, biological, and social sciences. CIS presents research in these areas through publications, courses, and community networks to enhance understanding of Islam and Islamic civilization.

  • In 2003, the Center started a semi-annual, peer-reviewed journal, Islamic and Science. The journal was renamed in 2013 as Journal of Islamic Sciences to better reflect range of its content.
